Gerry the friendly ghost
My entry to the GB Showdown game jam. Theme: "Friendly". All assets, design, concept and programming done in 6 days during the jam.
Disclaimer: This is my first time using GB studio so part of the time was a learning process getting to know the system. I am a single developer and did all the art (except a couple which I left as the defaults), programming, narrative, music etc myself inside of the 6 days. Please bear this in mind when critiquing !
Play as a friendly little ghost trying to help his friends, and maybe find a better place beyond this world.
Controls...
Arrow / WASD keys = move
A button / Alt/Z/J key = select, interact, continue narration
Start button / Enter key = open menu to save game
Constructive critiques are welcome. Also let me know if you come across any bugs! I've played it through a few times and there shouldn't be amything that stops you getting to the end so if you get stuck just try other things ;)
(Note the game can be played on mobile but may be a little slow)
HINTS:
- There is someone who needs your help in the mountains.
- Humans can't see Gerry but he can still have an effect on them. Try interacting with humans, see what they do.
- Gerry is a friendly ghost, so he tries not to scare anyone when he can. (That doesn't mean it doesn't happen though!)
- There are actually two possible endings. Which did you choose? :3
Credits:
Concept, design, programming, music by cerotypes.
All artwork by me (except the house, three regular human NPCs and the sign which are the GBstudio defaults). For some of the artwork I used the GBstudio art as a general base/inspiration. Others I did from scratch.

A spirit that cannot pass through trees. :)
haha yes I know. My intention was to program in an animation that let him pass through things without it looking like it has no 3D structure to it but I didn't have time :]
